Durban Digital Day

What a great event.  I was delighted to be at this ‘annual digital, tech & online conference, networking hub and big day out in KZN.’

Durban Digital Day

A day full of info and connecting.
Some of the highlights for me were:

  • Hearing the talented media consultant Cath Jenkin – share great tips for creating a successful online presence – Everything you do online is a tattoo.   It’s pretty much permanent.  So think carefully.

  • Meeting my antithesis.  I am conflict averse, and do my best to avoid any form of it. Bob Perfect of Durban is Yours welcomes it.  Really interesting to hear his point of view on youth culture.
Look out for this annual event this time next year. It’s well worth a visit!
Photos and Presentations coming soon on their Facebook Page

Miss + Meisie Showcase

The Miss+ Meisie duo – Wendy Douglas of Sketchbok Dbn and Jess Binns of Hector and Bailey –  hosted a quality event this past weekend, and Freshly Found was so delighted to have been part of it.

Have a look at some of the pics and read all about the wonderful Miss + Meisie Showcase on Sketchbok

“We had just a fantastic response to our first Durban showcase for miss+meisie!
A big big thank-you to all you lovely durbanites for your amazing support, and to all those that spread the word on instagram, thank-you!”

Here are some of my iPhone snaps of the event:

Interpret Durban

I am passionate about my home city Durban, and fascinated with the creative talent that we have here too.

So last night was a very good evening to experience both.  Streetscene Alternative Tours hosted an Interpret Durban T-shirt Competition at the Colomba Coffee Factory in Durban.
I so enjoyed all the clever ways people found to interpret our city.  Inspiration came from:  our recent street name changes, bunny chow [local delicacy], the sun, the sea, our local telephone code and alien bird population in the form of Indian Mynahs!
See Lauren’s take on the evening and the gorgeous judges’ and winners’ rosettes by Nadia too!  Not sure who the winners are, but

if I had been a judge – the design at the top of this post could well have got my vote.
